About Me

My photo
After 7 years of dating I finally married my high school sweetheart in Oct of 2009. I had always dreamed of marrying him and starting a family. On February 16, 2011 that dream came true when we welcomed our beautiful baby boy, Colin James, into our lives. I look forward to sharing our joy with you!

7 Months Old!! (Lots of Pictures)

7 months have gone by so fast.  I feel like it was just yesterday that I was pregnant and waiting for Colin to get here!  Now he's 7 months old and is the sweetest little guy in the world!  He has me wrapped around his little finger though. It's so hard when he's crying to not pick him up because he starts to smile so big when I walk in the room!  Sometimes he will be crying so hard and I make him wait a while before I pick him up.  When I finally do pick him up, he gives me the biggest hug and smile.  I just can't resist it!  He is started to tolerate being on the floor alone for a bit longer.  About two weeks ago he FINALLY rolled over from his back to his tummy.  He did it three times in a row that day and hasn't stopped since.  Now when he's on the floor he will roll from one side of the room to the other.  I think that may be why he's ok with being on the floor now since he is able to get around a little easier!

What's out there?

Colin is a pro at holding his bottle now!  I lay him down and give it to him and he grabs on and holds it until it's all gone.  Sometimes he pulls it out and looks at it, but he puts it right back in his mouth and continues eating.  He also has a preferred sleeping position now.  He likes to sleep on his side snuggling his monkey.  When I put him down for a nap or at bed time I put his blanket on him and give him his monkey and he grabs it real tight and rolls to his side.  It's so sweet.  He does not like to sleep on his tummy because I never let him because of the "back to sleep" rule to help prevent SIDS.  So if he rolls onto his tummy at night he doesn't like it very much!

About a week ago I noticed Colin's cheeks get real rosy and stay that way through the night and into the next morning.  I thought right away that it was probably his teeth bothering him but I still couldn't see anything under his gums.  Then on Thursday of last week he was real fussy and chewing on everything aggressively.  (more chewing than usual)  He was screaming and I just happened to look in his mouth and there were 2 teeth right underneath his bottom gums!  On Friday the left one had poked through and Monday they both had made their way through the gums!  Now they are slowly moving up.  I can't wait for them to come all the way in!  His smile is going to be so cute!  My poor baby doesn't do anything easily though.  With his teeth he has had bad diaper rashes, pain, and a runny nose!!  Poor little guy can't catch a break.  I pray that the rest come a little bit more easily...  I know doctors like to say that those symptoms aren't caused by teething, but it sure would be a coincidence for everything to happen at the same time!!  Especially since the day after both teeth broke through his nose cleared up and his diaper rash is getting better.

We've been having a lot of fun with friends the past few weeks.  We went to dinner with Charise and Luke a couple weeks ago and this weekend we went and hung out with April and her kiddos!

Then on Saturday we went to the Plano Balloon Festival with Shannon!  Although we didn't get to see any balloons go up... Oh well, it was still nice to get out.

Bad hair day...

Looking more like his daddy!

Leaving the festival.  Shannon gave me a break and pushed Colin on the way back.  You can see him holding his bottle!  When he was done he threw it on the ground!
